LED by the rousing success of the MacBook Air

With the holidays approaching, attention once again has shifted to the wallet and the general HP 412779-001  Battery emptiness therein. Wall Street’s occupied, the 99% is upset, and just about everyone is broke. That’s why no one can

do without this guide, which details a few compelling gadgets that sell for under $100. After all, an empty HP 484784-001 Battery wallet is no excuse to arrive this Christmas empty handed.

Integrated  HP EH768AA  Battery Device Technology, Inc. has announced that Samsung has selected its low-power dual-port memory for use in the popular GALAXY Tab. 10.1 LTE tablet PC. IDT says it was chosen for its ultra-low power consumption of (27 mW during operation) of power to maximize Apple A1281 Battery life.

For those not of the Apple persuasion, Sandisk offers the Sansa Clip Zip, a thinner Apple MacBook Pro 15 New Version Battery version of its Sansa Clip MP3 player. Available in multiple colors and in two memory configurations (4GB, 8GB), the Sansa Clip Zip offers 15 hours of  of battery life and supports all the major music Apple MacBook Pro 15 A1286 Battery formats. Did we mention it comes in a variety of colors? Red looks nice.

IDT explains that the IDT 70P255 is a low XPS M1530 Battery power 8K x 16 Dual-Port Static RAM (DPSRAM), which provides two independent ports with asynchronous access for simultaneous reads or writes to any location in memory, enabling the XPS M140 Battery tablet’s baseband processor (BP) and application processor (AP) to work in concert.

An automatic power down feature permits the device to enter a low-power standby mode (3.6 uW typical) to save power and extend HP Laptop Batteries life when the memory is not being accessed, as per IDT.

“We are pleased that Samsung Electronics, a leading mobile HP EliteBook 2530p Battery device provider, has selected IDT’s DPSRAM for this innovative product,” said Arman Naghavi, vice HSTNN-FB21 president and general manager of the Analog and Power Division at IDT.

“Our industry-leading low power memory HP 398876-001 Battery products complement our highly efficient power management and world-class timing solutions. We look forward to continuing to support Samsung with our broad portfolio of mixed-signal Business Notebook nw8200  Battery solutions.”

The Fitbit Ultra is the latest in a lengthening line of HP HSTNN-DB06 Battery products aimed at tracking - and hopefully improving - your fitness.

With the ability to track the number of steps you take, the number of stairs you climb, the number of calories you burn, and even how well you sleep, the Fitbit Ultra is pretty robust for a Business Notebook nw8240  Battery device its size.

The world may be slowly turning its back on dedicated MP3 players, but that doesn’t make Apple’s iPod shuffle any less compelling. The pitch for the Shuffle should by this point be clear: 5 colors, 15 hours of hp laptop batteries life, 2GB of storage.

Enough already! The Mac share of the PC market may be growing, led by the rousing success of the VGP-BPS18 MacBook Air, but it’s still less than 13 percent. And 20 million tablets may have sold worldwide in the first half of the year, but that’s still a far cry from the 100 million or so Windows VGP-BPL18 PCs that shipped.

More to the point, since when did the people who bought those tablets junk their PCs? What they really want is an integrated experience across their PCs, smartphones, and VGP-BPL7 tablets.

And with Windows 8, Microsoft finally seems to have gotten that. Windows 8’s Metro interface may seem tacked on at first, but it’s great for VGP-BPL2C tablets and, of course, originated on Windows Phone 7. So once users get accustomed to it, they’ll enjoy a unified cross-device experience.

Reportedly, porting Windows 7 apps to Metro will be a snap, and with a UI tool designed for HTML5 grid layouts, XPS M1210 Battery developers will easily be able to create apps that work on multiple screen sizes and orientations.

Then there’s Microsoft’s new Windows Live sync capabilities. If you log on with Windows Live ID from a Windows 8 PC, Windows 8 tablet, or Windows Phone 7 smartphone, all your configuration settings can travel with you among those  Vostro 2510 Battery devices, along with even your last state when you logged off — your open documents, apps, and so on. That should take synchronization across Vostro 1720 Battery devices to a whole new level.

Of course, none of this changes the fact that Windows desktops themselves lack sex appeal. So who needs ‘em? Laptop batteries sales started outpacing desktop sales in 2008 — and the new Ultrabook design being promoted by Intel promises to give some consumer kick to Windows laptops.

Mainly the Ultrabook appeal will come from the form factor, which is intended to mimic that of the MacBook Air — in its first iteration was 0.78 inch at its thickest point — and a MacBook Air-like projected minimum laptop batteries life of five hours for Web use.

But Intel is suggesting other common features for Ultrabooks, including near-instant-on RW556AA Battery capability and Intel’s Anti-Theft and Identity Protection technologies.

GH-ACC-USB adapter is in its element when you’re traveling

It outperformed the earlier version Rosewill adapter in every single test. The RNX-N180UBE also outperformed the built in Atheros AR9285 in my Inspiron E1505 Battery in every test other than the close range, unobstructed tests. This is probably due in part to the setup with the base station and the seven inch antenna. The RNX-N180UBE did very well in the latency Inspiron E1705 Battery tests, performing better than any other adapter we tested.

The Rosewill RNX-N180UBE stands on a USB base, or it can be plugged directly into a USB port. I like the look of the Inspiron Mini 1011 Battery adapter much better when it is plugged into the base, as it takes up quite a bit of space plugged directly into a laptop or the front of a computer. Also, Rosewill suggests using the USB base for better Inspiron Mini 10 Battery performance. Even without the base, I can’t complain much about the appearance of the RNX-N180UBE. It doesn’t really stand out in a crowd of wireless adapters, although the antenna sets it Inspiron Mini 10v Battery apart somewhat. Overall, I’d say the RNX-N180UBE is pretty average in its appearance.

Eneplug USB-to-AC wall outlet adapters from Green House of Japan let any plug provide HP Pavilion DV8000 battery 12Cell power to your electronic lifestyle devices. Anything from iPhones and iPods to MP3 players and even your USB Eyelash Curler can get hooked to the grid, so forget about flipping your DV8300 Battery ’s lid!

If you are in the HSTNN-I12C market for a wireless N adapter to upgrade the G or B adapter that you have, or to start off fresh with a wireless network, the RNX-N180UBE would be a great choice. If you already have a wireless N HSTNN-C12C adapter, this won’t likely be a noticeable upgrade for you.

Of course, those HSTNN-105C theoretical maximums are just that, theoretical. As we saw in the testing, even in close proximity and under ideal conditions, none of the adapters were able to achieve much higher than 150Mb/s. Still, that’s nearly three times the maximum that you could ever hope to reach with a wireless G HP Compaq  2730P Battery device.

In our tests, the Rosewill RNX-N180UBE Wireless N Adapter performed on par with, and often better than similar adapters that are found built in to laptops and other systems. For it’s price, the Rosewill RNX-N180UBE is definitely worth it if you have a HP COMPAQ AirLife 100 Smartbook Battery device that doesn’t come with an adapter already installed.

Sorry foreign techies, the GH-ACC-USB Series is rated at 5V/0.6A and works only with Japanese AC100V power grids. One supposes you could use a voltage/outlet travel HP 588119-001  Battery adapter to adapt your USB adapter to your domestic grid but be sure your smoke alarms are in working order before you make that kind of hook-up.

Speaking of travel, the GH-ACC-USB adapter is in its element when you’re traveling and don’t happen to have your PC or laptop computer by your side. Charging or powering your lifestyle electronic HP 611708-001  Battery devices by USB is still doable, as long as you’ve got a handy wall outlet within reach.

Choose from white, black, yellow, green, orange or pink to match your HP 588982-001  Battery preference and/or your previously selected phone & player skins. The the GH-ACC-USB HSTNN-XXXX adapter comes with a manufacturer’s 6-month warranty but as it has no moving parts, it should last a lot longer than that.

The S4 series of processors is Qualcomm’s top-tier line-up

October 8th, 2011

Qualcomm has published details about its next-generation mobile processors, known as the  Precision M2400 Battery series. The S4 series of processors is Qualcomm’s top-tier line-up, and includes both dual-core and quad-core chips.

The MSM8960 S4 chip Latitude E6510 Battery features two processing cores and an integrated baseband for 4G LTE support. Combining the baseband with the processor allows Qualcomm to create thinner designs, thereby allowing thinner devices. Qualcomm also touts improved hp laptop batteries life with the integrated design.

The high-end S4 processors also boast support for 3D still and video capture, as well as HD 3D video playback. Augmented reality, gesture-based apps, and Latitude E6500 Battery digital signal processing are also supported.

Qualcomm says that the MSM8960 S4 is already being sampled to Latitude E6410 Battery manufacturers, and is expected to show up in smartphone and tablet devices by early next year. The quad-core S4 chips are still being developed, and aren’t expected to hit the Latitude E6410 ATG Battery market until later on in 2012.

With an estimated 5 billion mobile phone connections in the world, not to mention the emerging number of tablet computers and other on-the-go connectivity Latitude E6400 XFR Battery gadgets, mobile technology has altered the way we live.

It’s as hard to imagine spinning a rotary dial or fumbling for a quarter for the pay phone — both staples of the generation before us — as it is imagining what new Latitude E6400 Battery technology may exist in the generation to come.

There was a time when those words would have required a bunch of follow-up Latitude E6400 ATG Battery details. That time is called “all of human history before everybody had a mobile phone.”

Now, all we need to do is get our friends in, generally, the same geographical region. To finish the Latitude E5510 Battery drill, dash off a quick “Where R U?” text. (Or, “Where are you?” if you’re not into the whole brevity thing. Or if you like grammar).

Change the old adage. “Close” now counts in horseshoes, hand grenades and meeting each other Latitude E5500 Battery when you have mobile phones.

The price being asked is $399.99, if you get the tablet with a 5 GB per month data plan. Prices for 5 GB of data start at $54.99 per month. If you want unlimited Latitude E5410 Battery messaging as well, that will cost you $74.99 per month.

So if you like HTC’s first Android tablet, don’t mind that it still runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread (an OS version designed for phones, not Latitude E5400 Battery tablets), and need to get it with data connectivity built-in, and don’t mind having US Cellular as your carrier… then go there right now and by all means order yourself a Latitude D830 Battery brand new Flyer.

On the other hand, if access to mobile data isn’t that important to you and Wi-Fi would suffice for your Latitude D820 Battery particular communications needs, Best Buy is still offering the 16 GB Wi-Fi-only HTC Flyer for a very cool $299.99. No contracts to sign, and it’s $100 cheaper than US Cellular’s offering.

Granted, although these SKUs are both basically the same Latitude D620 Battery tablet, they may serve different needs, so make sure you at least think about it.

With two-year contract-driven upgrades the norm here in the US, it’s always a challenge to decide whether it’s the right time to pull the trigger on buying a new phone — or to wait for the next big HP Compaq Business Notebook NC6400 Battery thing.

With Apple’s anticlimactic introduction of the iPhone 4S this week, the big question for many phone owners is whether to grab one when it ships next week or wait for the HP 395791-001 Battery expected Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) phones from Google’s partners.

In favor of the iPhone 4S is the uber-cool new Siri voice assistant built into iOS 5. For people who spend a lot of their time in places where it is inconvenient to fiddle with their phone — driving and standing in line come to HP Pavilion DV5 Battery mind — this feature alone will probably seal the deal in favor of the iPhone 4S.

But those for whom social situations are the norm — classrooms, boardrooms, and restaurants for example — and who don’t want to come off like a character from Star Trek, voice commands won’t be very HP Pavilion ZD7000 Battery useful.

For most phone users the answer is going to be a cautious wait and see — making the other HP 342661-001 Battery features of the phones all the more important.

New Orleans-based Latitude D531 Battery designer Hadaki’s US$90

The server will stream content to devices throughout the home, allowing viewers to pause and switch PA3612U-1BAS devices as they move into different rooms, the company said in a presentation at this year’s Ceatec electronics show in Japan, where many Japanese manufacturers display their latest PA3595U-1BRS electronics.

Connecting  PA3595U-1BAS tablets and TVs so they can share content is important, but connectivity to regional cloud-based services is also crucial, meaning some products will be limited to certain geographic markets, said Masaaki Osumi, head of Toshiba’s digital  PA3594U-1BRS products division.

The Regza Server shown at Ceatec is intended only for the Japanese Latitude D620 Battery market.

“It’s a bit hard to imagine this Regza Server as being sold globally. But on a regional DM4 battery basis, there is a natural need for TVs that have server functionality. So in Europe, or some parts of China, we want to create TVs that can act as servers,” he said.

The  Latitude D531N Battery company also officially announced its TV, tablet and ultrabook products for launch in Japan, though it had previously done so for the European and U.S. markets.

Ultrabooks are a lightweight, super-thin offspring of laptop batteries computers being pushed by Intel and electronics manufacturers, the model for which is Apple’s successful Macbook Air line.

New Orleans-based Latitude D531 Battery designer Hadaki’s US$90 Cushioned Multitasker Laptop Pod is as good at protecting your laptop as it is at inducing flashbacks of your summer abroad in Amsterdam.

The bag’s plastic exterior is super shiny, but it feels tough enough to handle heavy use without flaking or tearing. The interior is lined with a slick nylon that’s sure to keep your VGP-BPS2C laptop scratch-free and clean.

And the adjustable, messenger-style shoulder strap connects to the VGP-BPS2A_S bag with tough seams – it doesn’t look like it would break without a fight. The strap itself, however, looks a little dangerous. The plastic is stiff and slick – a recipe for a hot, painful shoulder if you don’t cover it with something HP NC4200 Battery .

The Pod’s padded interior may smell like a beach ball and feel like a rain slicker, but it will definitely protect your hp laptop batteries , which is held in place by a thick Velcro strap in a separate, padded sleeve. (The bag accommodates up to a 15.4in laptop.) The sleeve’s open top makes it easy to access your computer even while it’s being protected from the other gear in the bag.

The padded HP NX7400 Battery material is lightweight, but still offers adequate protection, and a large flap covers the top of the bag in transit. When the flap is open, you have access to an interior, zippered pocket large enough for your wallet, phone and keys; inside are places to put pens and pencils.

The exterior of the bag has three pockets: One below each strap attachment and a large Compaq Presario 2506  Battery one on the side opposite the flap opening. That outside pocket has two zippers, one on the top and one along the bottom edge, that allow the pocket to act as a pass-through sleeve for attaching the bag to a wheeled-luggage handle.

The   Compaq Presario 2509  Battery design of our review sample is called “Hannah’s Paisley.” I can only assume that Hannah is a Simon and Garfunkel fan, because this print is beyond groovy – it is, dare I say, psychedelic. Though I wouldn’t want to use it now, my 19-year-old self would have loved it for carrying her MacBook, reporter’s noteboo and used copy of The Compaq Presario 2513 Battery Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test around San Francisco State.

The Pod is also available in similarly trippy designs with names such as Tic Tac Toe, Cobalt Paisley, Cobalt Stripes and Floral Swirl. There seems to be a pattern for everyone – well, everyone with exceptionally bold taste in Latitude D430 Battery bags, that is.

Hilton’s new Home2 Suites extended stay brand designed their lobbies with an eye toward bringing Dell Inspiron 1520 Battery business travelers out of their rooms.

Tables and colorful couches offer space for informal meetings as well as areas where anyone can plop down with a laptop batteries and a drink rather than sitting alone in a room watching TV.

Disappearing tubs: Unless you’re booking a suite, your next stay in a hotel room may not offer the luxury of a bath. Many newly  HP Pavilion ZE4523 Battery built hotels are offering showers only.

Marriott, for example, is “advising our newly built hotels to put showers in 75 percent of the rooms and bathtubs in 25 percent of the rooms,” according to Marriott spokeswoman Laurie ZE4526 battery Goldstein.

“Our research shows that business travelers prefer showers to baths but families like the flexibility of a bathtub as well as a shower.”‘

Though most incidents are in ages 12 and younger, Hadden said he’s heard of adults taking the  hp laptop batteries out of their hearing aids, then later swallowing them instead of pills in the same area.

The publicly funded economic development body said it now hoped to establish a new Scottish company around the so-called “flow cell Dell Inspiron 1501 Battery technology” or licence it to an existing company that can take it to market.

Following the introduction last year of the Leaf, Mitsubishi Motors’ i MiEV and General Motors’s Chevrolet Volt, the new Dell Inspiron 14z Battery models will test consumer appetite for electric vehicles, which cost more than double the price of conventional models. Consumers are balking at paying up, concerned that their own investment will be wiped out in a few years because the Dell Inspiron 14 Battery may not last.

Costly HP Pavilion ZE4540 Battery and limited driving range remain the key sticking points for the technology. Public charging stations are also conspicuously absent in most markets.

Even the technology’s strongest advocates  437403-541 recognize that success hinges on years of generous subsidies from increasingly cash-strapped governments.

Juan Alvarado was charged with burglary of a dwelling with HP Pavilion ZE4560 Battery , battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.

Manatee County sheriff’s deputies say the incident unfolded when Alvarado went to his ex-girlfriend’s home in the 3200 block of Fifth Street Court East. When the girlfriend did not let him   HP 396600-001 Battery inside, Alvarado went to the back of the home and entered.

HTC unlocked the HP 493976-001 Battery bootloader of the Sensation

Have you just spent some good hard earned money on the brand new HTC Sensation and feel a little  Samsung Q320 Battery annoyed at the fact HTC have just announced an upgrade already, the HTC Sensation XE?

The new Sensation XE comes with some snazzy new additions including Sense 3.5 and the Beats Audio software, a processor and laptop  battery upgrade, and in the box it also it also comes with some snazzy Beats headphones.

So you and your   VGP-BPL15_B Sensation feel outdated already. Well, if you could transform your HTC Sensation into a Sensation XE, would you? I certainly would. If this is somthing you would consider, it is now a possibility.

The Android Revolution Team over at XDA Developers have taken a little software ROM from the Samsung R522 Battery Sensation XE, worked some developing magic, and ported it to the original Sensation.

So what does this  Dell Latitude D510 Battery mean? It means your new HTC Sensation has just been upgraded to the Sensation XE without you having to pay a penny – much better than another 2 year contract, or forking out another £500-£600 (definitely somthing i couldn’t bring myself to do).

With this upgrade, you won’t be able to replicate the  Dell Latitude D505 Battery hardware changes of the faster processor and bigger battery, of course, but you’ll get the benefit of Beats Audio software and the HTC Sense 3.5 user interface.

As usual this is a ‘flash at your own risk’ kind of procedure, but after HTC unlocked the HP 493976-001 Battery bootloader of the Sensation, it’s somthing they expect some people will do.

Just remember that  HP EliteBook 8740w battery performing this mod could void your warranty, and if the steps are not followed correctly you could end up with a rather expensive paper weight.

If your interested head over to XDA-developers and have a read, (a thorough read) before you give  HP Pavilion dv2600 Battery a go.

One of the co-creators of FoldIt says humans have Samsung AA-PB9NC6W Battery spatial reasoning skills that computers are not yet good at, which helps explain why gamers were able to decipher the protein so quickly, where the brute force of computers have failed. Whatever the reason, the study proves something we’ve known for ages—HSTNN-OB31 PC gamers rule.

For Black & Decker, nickel cadmium (NiCd) tools existing production line with a new hstnn-lb72 battery-powered wireless tools (currently) in the competition.

For example, the new lithium cordless leaf blower, using the same amount of nickel-cadmium  586028-341 586006-321 586006-361 588178-141 593553-001 batteries, LSW120 “attractive” NS118 cordless blower and blow a review. Leaf blower, although not yet in the U.S., a new line of Steele, trimmers, leaf blowers and hedge trimming string, so far, includes outdoor power tools 36 volt lithium-ion Inspiron 1721 Battery .

And leaf blowers, the gas engine entirely, among them a cordless phone (or electricity) from a string, Roy Berendsohn Popular Mechanics, “wrote,” This I found in cordless outdoor Inspiron 1720 Battery power equipment or is trying to fine tune. ”

Lithium-ion batteries, according to experts, they are several advantages of such a philosophy, to be used in outdoor power tools. First, they are light. To return to the previous example, LSW120 Black & Decker NS118 (4.8 pounds), compared with (3.8 pounds) weighs less. Another advantage is needed to recharge the battery, lithium ion Inspiron 1521 Battery that power is not lost gradually, to use the tools that you can operate at full power.

Lithium-ion batteries than other types of Inspiron 1520 Battery , require less maintenance. They do not self-discharge, even if you do not use them, they will hold a charge, will be the year in the store, should not have to charge every few months.

In addition, they have no memory effect, not to fully discharge before charging you.

The drawback is that they cost more to buy, the cost of manufacturing the lithium-ion laptop batteries. AkkuSer’s Dry Technology takes recycling and material recovery to a new level for portable batteries

August 25th, 2011
Comments Off

The volume of waste batteries generated by modern society is growing all the time, with so many of the cameras, mobile phones, laptops and hand tools we use being dependent on PA3595U-1BAS batteries. When they run out or can no longer be recharged, they quickly become a problem.

Why? Because the mercury, cadmium and lead they contain are hazardous to the environment. But these materials also represent a valuable recycling resource, as do the other metals in PA3595U-1BRS battery-related waste streams.

European Union (EU) member countries generate tens of thousands of tons of waste PA3609U-1BRS batteries and accumulators every year. AkkuSer’s Dry Technology and its network of partners may represent an effective way of dealing with this challenge and turning it into a truly suitable recycling opportunity.

Finnish company AkkuSer claims to be the first company in the EU to have developed a technology for recycling hazardous VGP-BPL2 batteries and accumulators in an environmentally sustainable way.

While recycling technologies for dealing with this type of waste have existed for some time, they are generally inadequate, particularly in terms of energy use. Now that  DM4t battery recycling is required in the EU’s 27 States, and other countries have either introduced similar legislation or are on the way to doing so, something better is needed.

AkkuSer’s Dry Technology takes recycling and material recovery to a new level for portable batteries, nickel-metal hydride, lithium-ion, nickel-cadmium, and lead accumulators, and alkaline MU06 battery.

The technology does not require water or chemicals, which results in zero liquid effluent and minimal quantities of solid waste. Metal content is identified and sorted very accurately and recovered for onward use, while plastic and board are separated out for recycling as VGP-BPS5A energy.

The operating costs of AkkuSer’s fully auto- mated process are typically 90% lower than those of older technologies. AkkuSer’s Dry Technology also delivers a recycling/reuse efficiency of more than 90%, while around half of the PA3612U-1BAS materials processed using conventional technology normally ends up in landfills.

At the base of the cantilevers is a bit of piezoelectric material: when it’s strained by vibrations, it produces an electrical potential that can be used to generate electrical current. The cantilever array is mounted on top of a postage-stamp-sized, thin-film PA3612U-1BRS battery that stores the energy it generates.

The current passes from the piezoelectric array through an electrical device that converts the current to a form compatible with the laptop battery.

AkkuSer already processes most of the rechargeable batteries and battery waste generated in Finland and Estonia today, and half of the waste in Norway and Sweden, and has the PA3614U-1BRP capacity to handle even larger volumes at its dedicated plant in Central Finland.

The cathode material extracted by AkkuSer when it recycles Li-ion and Li-polymer laptop batteries – the most valuable recyclable component contained in these batteries – is sent to OMG Kokkola Chemicals, for example, for use in the manufacture of cobalt chemicals for use in new Li-ion products worldwide.

Nickel recycled from nickel-metal HP 586006-321 battery goes to Boliden Harjavalta’s smelter and Norilsk Nickel’s nearby nickel plant and ends up as metallic nickel.

The success of this partnership model gives AkkuSer a valuable competitive edge, over and above its HP COMPAQ Presaio CQ32 Battery technology, and one that has major potential – not only in Europe, but also further afield.

Tab 10.1 achieves perhaps the greatest design compliment an Android tablet

August 25th, 2011
Comments Off

Also missing so far: any mention of a HP KU533AA Battery version, which was previously announced. The Tab 10.1 supports Adobe Flash, but I was surprised to find my test unit came without Flash preinstalled.

Nor did it have a shortcut on the desktop linking directly to Adobe’s Flash Player on the Android IBM ThinkPad X60s Battery Market, as other Honeycomb tablets have handled the Flash installation conundrum (since it’s not native to the Android OS).

And yet, other file support surprises abound. The Tab 10.1 actually comes with support for Windows Media audio and video files (including .WMA, .WMV, and .AVI); these files are not  Lenovo ThinkPad X61 Battery natively supported by Android 3.1, so it’s impressive that Samsung jumped in to the fill the void. It also can read Xvid, another format not noted on Android’s official list.

The Tab 10.1 comes pre-loaded with Quickoffice HD, for reading and editing Microsoft Word, Excel, and Lenovo ThinkPad X61s Battery PowerPoint files as well as serving as a functional file browser. (Interesting observation: files I downloaded via Gmail appear only in the Download folder, even though the images and videos appear directly in the Gallery app, and the music shows in the Music app.)

As initially shipped, the Tab 10.1 comes with stock Android 3.1 on board, and very little to distinguish it. It’s the first Honeycomb tablet to ship with Google’s facile Android Movie Studio (the Google answer to Apple’s iMovie on iOS). And it does have a customised HSTNN-Q35C keyboard from Nuance, with trace typing capabilities.

This keyboard is the default keyboard, although you could switch to the native Honeycomb keyboard if you prefer. I found I liked the Samsung keyboard; it’s grey, with black HSTNN-I71C letters, large keys and mostly useful shortcut keys (for example, @, .com, and :-) in the email keyboard).

Apple’s attempt to erase the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 from the history books is a compelling reason to take a long hard look at this Compaq Presario 1400  Battery tablet - UPDATED 25 AUG 2011

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi is the first Android tablet to effectively challenge Apple’s iPad 2 at what Apple does best: design. Let’s face it, when it comes to tablets, Compaq Presario B2800  Battery design is the attribute that’s squarely at centre stage. And the Tab 10.1 has that in spades. In fact, its design, together with its Android 3.1 operating system, vaults the Tab 10.1 to the head of the Android pack.

The Tab 10.1 achieves perhaps the greatest design compliment an Android tablet can hope for; namely, it was often mistaken at first glance for being an iPad 2. Even by Apple iPad users. This is remarkably understandable when you see and hold the Tab 10.1 for the Compaq 116314-001 Battery first time. The Tab 10.1 has a slim profile, 8.6mm - a hair’s breadth slimmer than the iPad 2 (technically, 0.2mm slimmer for those keeping the scorecard).

From the side, the two tablets look very similar. The Tab 10.1 has a more rounded edge, though, to the iPad’s tapered edge. The tablet comes in two colours: shipping first is white, which couples a silver-painted plastic edge with a white plastic black (identical to the limited edition Google I/O Compaq TC1000 Battery version of the Tab, sans the Android graphic imprint); available on June 17, when the Tab 10.1 ships in volume, you can choose a Metallic Grey, with edges and back that more closely match.

I actually preferred the grey variety, even though that model would be less likely to be mistaken for Apple’s ultra-hip tablet. I liked the feel and texture of the dark backing, as opposed to the more chintzy feeling plastic white backing.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 edges the iPad 2 on weight, too: 570g, to the iPad’s 600g. And IBM ThinkPad X60 Battery stands slightly taller and narrower than iPad, dimensions you’d expect simply by virtue of its 10.1in display. It measures 260×175mm, compared with iPad 2’s 240×185mm.

All of this is meaningless, though, compared with the reality of actually handling the Galaxy Tab 10.1. The Tab 10.1 feels lightweight and extremely well-balanced in-hand. I found ThinkPad R60 Battery conducive to hold in one hand or two, and found it lightweight enough that I hardly noticed it was in my bag.

I’d still like to see the weight on tablets of this size get closer still to the one pound mark, while adding even more built-in functionality (like additional ports), but this is a good start ThinkPad R60e Battery towards that goal. Especially considering the Tab 10.1 is Samsung’s first mass-market tablet of this size (I’m not counting the region-specific, heavier and thicker 10.1V).

The Tab 10.1’s overall design takes a minimalist design cue from Apple, as well. Beyond the docking port, you have a power button and volume rocker at top (horizontal) or along the right side (vertical). Also along the right top is the headphone jack; it’s awkwardly situated if you’re holding the laptop batteries horizontally and video chatting at the same time, since the jack is just off to the right above where the camera is.

But if you flip the orientation to put the jack at the bottom of the horizontal display, or hold the ThinkPad Z61p Battery tablet vertically, with the jack running along the right side, the jack’s location works fine).

The stereo speakers are situated a little more than an inch down from the top, along the left and right horizontal edges. This position proved a good one, since my hands didn’t get in the way of the speakers. The speakers sounded surprisingly good, among the better I’ve heard on Lenovo Thinkpad W500 Battery Android tablets, far better than iPad 2’s single rear-facing speaker. But that’s not saying much; audio still sounded too tinny on my test tracks.

The 1280×800 pixel resolution display looks bright and brilliant, two characteristics we’ve come to associate with Samsung displays on its phones and tablets. Like the 7in Galaxy Tab before it, the display also has over-saturated colours. On a colour chart test image, most of the colours, including reds and blues, were blown out. In our test images of sights and scenes, this tendency translated to images that popped, but had a bit too much red ThinkPad T60 Battery and blue thrown into the mix. In side-by-side comparison, the Apple iPad 2 generated better colour reproduction, especially when it came to the soft browns for skin tones.

However, the Tab 10.1 rendered images with terrific sharpness and detail. This is the first Android tablet to ship natively with Google’s Android 3.1 update. And images clearly benefit from the updated OS: Images were crisp, with no signs of the fuzzy rendering issue that plagued earlier the earlier Honeycomb  ThinkPad Z60m Battery versions.

A-Series APU computers get a similar update for their processor?

The AMD Fusion-powered computers are already turning heads with consumers wondering how the lower priced PCGA-BP7 devices with dedicated-level DirectX 11 graphics compare with the slightly more expensive, Intel Core-powered but usually with only integrated graphics computers. Now the C- and E-Series APUs offer even better graphics-related enhancements:

As a result, E-Series APUs now have better PCGA-BP71A memory bandwidth, run faster and especially during video playback; with HDMI 1.4, the machines can now display 3D photos and videos on 3D HDTVs and monitors; and portable devices like laptops could never have long enough battery life.

New laptops, netbooks, ultrabooks and all-in-one desktops that use the AMD Fusion PCGA-BP71AUC technology will start shipping today with these minor but welcomed improvements. Will current owners of A-Series APU computers get a similar update for their processor?

For some reason my laptop  battery went dead while the truck was parked. The first time it happened I just figured the battery had finally given up. It was the original battery and it had lasted 8 years. It also sees a huge temperature swing throughout the day in the summer and winter.

Plus I don’t drive this vehicle much. So I headed down to the parts store and picked up an Optima Yellow Top deep cycle starting PA3356U-3BAS battery, slapped it in the truck and went on my way noting that the alternator was charging just like it should be.

Then I parked the truck for a week only to come back and find the battery dead again. I had recently added a camper to this truck along with a couple other wiring modifications. So now I had to backtrack and check all my work. It looked fine. Then I tested the parasitic drain on the laptop batteries .

Pretty much every vehicle has parasitic battery drain. Newer vehicles with more electronic wingdings generally have more than older more spartan 4×4s. Up to 35 or even 50 milliamps is considered normal for most newer  PA3356U-2BRS vehicles.

First I made sure everything was turned off. Then I disconnected the battery terminal and wired in my 10-amp multi-meter between the positive  HP 441132-001 Battery terminal and the battery cable.

I was getting a reading of a little over 1-amp, which is kinda high. However, newer vehicles will spike up like this or higher right when the HP HSTNN-OB37 Battery is reconnected.

There are computers and other  HP HSTNN-OB38 Battery equipment that fires up for a short time when they get power connected. So I waited a few minutes and the meter eventually settled down to 10-milliamps. Perfect. So now that  everything checks out, what went wrong, twice? At this point I don’t really know.

The only thing that I can imagine is that I must have left my backup camera monitor turned on. It doesn’t draw much power but over the course of a week it could kill a PA3356U-2BAS battery. I’m still not sure if that was it though, so I’ll keep an eye on it.
